Children of veterans make great sacrifices while their parents have served. Making it easier for them to pursue higher education helps acknowledge the sacrifices. The following organizations specifically offer scholarships for children of veteran’s.

Army Veterans (AMVETS)

AMVETS 1 offers scholarships for children and grandchildren of U.S. veterans or active duty members (including Guard and Reserve) – the $4,000 AMVETS Scholarship and the $1,000 JROTC Scholarship. Navy Marine Corps Relief Society

The Navy Marine Corps Relief Society 2 provides interest free loans and grants ranging from $500 to $3000 per academic year for children of active duty, retired, or deceased Sailors or Marines. The General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant by the Air Force Aid Society 3 is available to children of U.S. Air Force members who are active, retired, or deceased. Grants range from $500 to $4,000. The Army Scholarship 4 awards scholarships from $500 to $2000 per year to active duty, retired or deceased U.S Army, reserve or National Guard members. Please check for deadlines, eligibility requirements, supporting documentation for your application.

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation 5 offers a Career and Technical Education (CTE) scholarship for those attending vocational training under 12 months. Please check for deadlines, eligibility requirements, supporting documentation for your application.

You can maximize your funding options by applying to as many scholarships as possible. Just make sure to meet the eligibility and application requirements of each education scholarship organization. The Jacksonville and Tulsa campus at TWS is a military friendly school for 2017.  All three campus offer military advantages for veteran’s children, including GI Bill benefits and military tuition pricing (check with local campus for specifics). If you are a child of a veteran, there are thankfully many options available for you to pursue your career goals.
