The list of Military and Veteran Friendly Schools for 2013 is already up, and Tulsa Welding School is still on the list, and we are VA approved! To accommodate working schedules, classes are offered in the evenings as well as during the day.
Appeal of Vocational Programs
With both national accreditation and numerous state licensures, TWS has been working for years to provide military and veteran students with the support they need to complete vocational training in welding, HVAC, and pipefitting. After serving in the military, many veterans prefer careers that allow them to work with their hands and keep out of the office. Technical careers have become a natural career choice for members of the military, particularly if they have already received some form of mechanical training during their service. However, even if you have not received formal welding or mechanic training in the service, with the GI Bill, everyone in the armed forces has access to this type of education with financial assistance.
Financial Aid for Veterans and Military
The school has a number of policies in place to assist military and veteran students finance their education. To start, TWS offers scholarships and grants for military and veterans along with tuition discounts. Military students called away to active service may return to the school without financial or academic penalty. TWS also offers active-duty military and veteran students and their dependents special Military Tuition Pricing.
Support Programs for Military Students
Active military and veteran students are a valued part of Tulsa Welding School’s student population. In order to better provide specialized support for this portion of the campus, TWS has ensured that it maintains a staff of full-time advisors who understand the strain on veterans while readjusting to civilian life. These advisors are also prepared to assist veterans with career placement, and they regularly meet with local veteran representatives to stay informed of even more opportunities as they open up in the job market. Finally, TWS hosts social networking events specifically to allow veteran and military students to connect with each other.
Tulsa Welding School has campuses in both Tulsa, OK and Jacksonville, FL. Both are fully prepared to provide veterans and military students with the support they need.
