TWS is a Great Training Option for Everyone

Learn more about how we can prepare you to advance your career.

So you’re already interested in attending Tulsa Welding School, but you’re wondering if you can pay for it? Don’t worry, there are various scholarships and grants you can get that can make paying for TWS’s welding training programs easier.

American Welding Society Scholarships

One the first places to check for a welding scholarship is the American Welding Society’s district scholarship program. By simply filling out a form, a welding student can be eligible to receive a scholarship through this fund that will cover tuition, books, supplies, and other school related costs. To apply for this scholarship, you should be enrolled in a welding program in the United States and have a high school diploma or GED. Remember that unlike a grant, a scholarship is awarded independently of financial need. This means that you can pursue a welding scholarship that will put school in reach regardless of your current occupation and income.

Federal Welding Training Tuition Assistance

There are also many Federal grants and loans for which you may qualify. Examples of grants you can get from the Federal Government include a Pell Grant or a SEOG Grant. The amount of the grant depends on a number of factors including financial need and which welding training program you are taking. Grants do not have to be paid back, but loans do. Loans are available from the Federal Government in two varieties: Subsidized and Unsubsidized. Subsidized loans are based on financial need and do not accrue interest until after you complete your welding courses. Unsubsidized loans are not based on financial need, but accrue interest during the time when you’re taking welding courses.
