The History of TWS

TWS was founded in 1949 by two welders who recognized a strong demand for skilled tradesman in their industry. With their commitment to delivering quality career education and training for the welding industry, they developed an Associate of Occupational Studies in Welding Technology degree program in November 1997. In November 2001, TWS opened a branch campus in Jacksonville, Florida to address the needs of employers and students along the Eastern sector of the United States. Additionally, in May 2011, Tulsa Welding School in Jacksonville, Florida added an Auxiliary/Satellite facility located at 1750 Southside Boulevard in Jacksonville. In 2014 TWS opened its newest campus in Houston, Texas to fulfill the areas growing need for professional welder and  pipefitter training. Over 60 years later, TWS has evolved into an educational institution that prepares students for welding, electro-mechanical technologies and pipefitting careers that apply to a multitude of specialties and applications.
