Instructors At Tulsa Welding School

Reese Beers, (Lead & Senior Instructor), TWS graduate: Reese Beers has over five years of welding experience including shop management responsibilities. Reese’s background consists of fitter and welder development of heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and box headers. His welding processes include MIG, TIG, SMAW and FCAW. He is also a member of American Welding Society.

Gary Crawford, (Senior Instructor), TWS graduate: Gary Crawford has been a certified pipe welder through the Pipefitters Union since 1974. Gary has worked on projects across the country including nuclear power plants. He is also member of American Welding Society.

Fred Dietrich III, (Senior Instructor): Fred Dietrich III has worked in the welding industry for more than twelve years with experience that includes tube welding, contract welding, and pipe welding and fitting. He is also a member of American Welding Society.

Donald Gibbs, (Senior Instructor): Donald Gibbs has over 23 years of industry welding experience. Donald’s major specialty was pipe welding involving SMAW and TIG processes. He is also a member of American Welding Society.

David Gilliam, Assistant Director of Training, (Senior Instructor): David Gilliam earned an Associate degree in welding and metal technology as well as a Bachelor of Science degree. He has prior experience as a heat exchanger and pressure vessel welder. David’s exotic metal welding includes processes for Inconel and Hastelloy. He is also a member of American Welding Society.

Jamie Pearson, Vice President of Training: Jamie is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a BA degree. Jamie is a certified welder in MIG, TIG, SMAW, Fluxcore, and Sub-arc with experience in refineries and pressure vessels as well as heat exchanges. Jamie is a member of American Welding Society and the American Society for Nondestructive Testing with Level II ASNT certification nondestructive testing in magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, radiographic film interpretation, and ultrasonic. Jamie has been with TWS for over ten years.

Glen Rich (Senior Instructor): Glen has over twenty-six years of experience welding pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping, reboilers, and tanks. His processes include MIG, TIG, SMAW, FCAW, and submerged arc. He is also a member of American Welding Society.

Dean Shepherd, TWS graduate: Dean Shepherd, a certified welder, has done work as a radiographer with six years of experience in the field. He is a member of American Welding Society and The American Society for Nondestructive Testing.

David Wilkins, (Senior Instructor), TWS graduate: David Wilkins has over 5 years of industry experience as pipe welder, fitter, structural welder, and welding supervisor. He is an Oklahoma certified welder and a member of American Welding Society.

Steve Woodard, (Lead & Senior Instructor): Steve Woodard has been a certified pipe welder with eleven years of working in the welding field. He is a member of Pipefitters Local 397 and American Welding Society.

The mission of these Tulsa Welding School instructors is to produce "World Class Welders and Welding Inspectors." The instructors at Tulsa Welding School give our graduates the skills, knowledge, and workplace attitudes needed to enter the profession of welding or inspection.
