Where can I work After Graduating from Tulsa Welding School?
So you're interested in a career in welding, but you're not sure exactly where you want to work. Don't worry, there's good news. When it comes to welding jobs, there is a wide variety of welding jobs in a wide variety of settings. So once you graduate from Welding School you'll have a myriad of options.
Welding School Graduates Can Work In Many Environments
Factories and Industrial Plants
If you're the type of person who likes working inside, there are several opportunities open to you after your welder training. There are various industries which uses welding in factories. These factories can be assembly line driven where the welder works on the same area for many units, or the factory could be set up so one welder would work on all the welding for a single unit. Regardless of the nature of the work, welders in this environment enjoy a fairly regular work schedule and being able to work inside.
Construction Sites
If you enjoy the great outdoors more than staying indoors, there are many opportunities available to you. High rise construction projects employ a number of welders to build the structure of the building. Working on these projects means working outside, and usually far off the ground. If you enjoy a little more excitement and variety in your work, working 1,000 ft. off the ground might be for you. Though the scheduling can be irregular (it's not safe to weld outside in inclement weather), the pay is often greater that indoors welding jobs because the work is unappealing to many welders.
Underwater
If you really want to do something different, then you should look into underwater welding. Underwater welders have a extremely unique job, they are responsible for welding joints underwater. They work on boats and other metal joints which cannot be removed from the water. In addition to welding knowledge, you need underwater diving experience to perform underwater diving. Much like outdoor welders, there are drawbacks to working on underwater welding, but there is compensation too.
Many Other Opportunities Available After Welding Courses are Over
These examples are a few broad examples of jobs that are open to you after graduating from welding school. Additionally, if you graduate from Tulsa Welding School's Associate Degree program (available at the Tulsa campus) you can work as a welding inspector. These welding school graduates are responsible for inspecting and approving the work of the welders on a project.
