The Work of Welders Is Everywhere You Look

Welding is a very useful skill which can lead to many great career opportunities. Welds are everywhere. From ships and skyscrapers to ladder racks and automotive work, there are plenty of projects for a skilled welder.

Industrial Welding

The bulk of modern welding jobs are industrial. There are countless industrial jobs that require candidates for certain positions to be certified in welding. Not all of these jobs are strictly welding. There are many management, engineering, and maintenance jobs in various industries that require proficiency in welding. You must know how to weld if you want to supervise welding professionals.

Local Welding and Fabrication Shops

Another career option for a skilled welder is to open a welding or fabrication shop. A welder should have significant experience before opening his or her own shop, but it is a goal to work toward. With a minimal amount of advertising, a small welding shop can thrive. Smaller businesses that do not have a welding professional on staff will often take their repair work to a welding shop. Many small businesses will also have certain items fabricated instead of overspending on commercially produced versions.
